Magnum Photos’ Workshops

The Campus PHE Grandes Maestros – Magnum Photos’ Workshops is aimed at photographers who are dedicated to pushing their own personal photographic boundaries. They focus on how each student’s visual language can be improved by story formation, visual literacy, and personal vision, offering to participants the possibility to produce individual projects under the same constraints as professional assignments.
During the classes, students participate in an intimate 4 class with the Magnum Photographer of their choice.
Each Magnum photographer leads intimate groups of twelve individuals through an intensive program of shooting, daily reviews, group critiques, mentoring, editing sessions and the opportunity to learn amongst peers.
Participants spend the days alongside their selected photographer developing their own visual language, photographic identity, practical, technical and conceptual skills. A highly energetic way of learning to new ways of approaching the student’s work like creating a portfolio, developing editing skills, dealing with potential clients or galleries but also learning how to deal with the actual taking pictures in the field in sometimes difficult circumstances.
In addition to the dynamic within each class, there is also ample informal time for cross-pollination of viewpoints and commentary with other teachers as well as other students.
